Board games have always been a tactile affair and need to remain so in order to be relevant. However, let’s look at the current context in which we operate. The current era relies heavily on video as the main form of communication, with music and audio (podcasts and audio logs) being a close second. Text itself is also there, though far less used.
Our board game is the answer and alternative to the digitally drenched landscape of vicarious, vacuous, unfeeling forms of entertainment.
The main issue that we answer, due to modern entertainment, is that our board game is tactile and real and can be physically felt. It is also an educational game, meant to foster focus, strategy, and team building.
Our board game is a monster-fighting, player-vs-player fighting game with multiple dice and a class-based system. Each player has up to three characters on a 5×5 board. Each character has a mix of melee and range attacks in all sorts of directions. Dice are used at every turn, from the order of play to the play-by-play. Luck of the roll keeps the play interesting.
